Change image formats privately
Need a PNG as a JPG, or an old image as modern WebP? This converter switches your image between the main web formats in your browser — your file is never uploaded. Pick a target format and download the result in a click.
Which format should you pick?
- PNG — lossless; best for logos, graphics and anything with transparency.
- JPG — small files for photos; no transparency (transparent areas become white).
- WebP — modern web format, smaller than PNG and JPG at similar quality.
Good to know
Converting to PNG is lossless. Converting to JPG or WebP re-encodes the image at high quality, so the file gets smaller with little visible change. To shrink a file further, use the image compressor; to change dimensions, use the image resizer.
All conversion happens locally in your browser. No image is uploaded, logged or stored.
Frequently asked questions
Is my image uploaded when converting?
No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser with the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device and nothing is stored on a server.
Should I use PNG, JPG or WebP?
Use PNG for graphics, logos and anything needing transparency; JPG for photos where small size matters; and WebP for the web, since it is smaller than both at similar quality. JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas become white.
Does converting reduce quality?
Converting to PNG is lossless. Converting to JPG or WebP re-encodes the image and may lose a little detail, but at high quality the difference is usually invisible while the file gets smaller.
