Resize images privately, right in your browser
Most online image resizers upload your photo to a server. This one doesn't. It uses your browser's built-in Canvas engine, so the image is resized on your own device and never leaves it — ideal for anything private. Choose an image, set a new width or height, and download the result.
How to use it
- Pick an image — click the box or drag a file in.
- Set the size — type a new width or height. With "Lock ratio" on, the other side adjusts automatically so nothing stretches.
- Download — click Resize & Download to save the new image.
A note on quality
Shrinking an image keeps it crisp. Enlarging past the original dimensions can't add detail that isn't there, so it will look softer — start from the highest-resolution version you have. Need a smaller file rather than smaller dimensions? Use the image compressor, or change format with the image converter.
All processing happens locally in your browser. No image you open here is uploaded, logged, or stored.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The image resizer runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your photo is never sent to a server — it is processed on your own device and nothing is stored.
How do I resize an image without losing quality?
Making an image smaller keeps it sharp. Enlarging beyond the original size will always soften it, because there is no extra detail to add. Keep the aspect ratio locked to avoid stretching.
What image formats can I resize?
Common web formats including JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF (first frame). The resized image downloads as a PNG or JPEG depending on the original.
